Wrapped Up! Andrea Taffurelli, Cardiff Well Christmas is coming soon - I love it, but this year will be a sad one for me as you know my mama passed away earlier this year. However, she gave me a memory I will always cherish at Christmas. It was a very embarrassing experience but looking back now, I found it funny! A few years ago, at Christmas, it was a very busy time for me and I left my Christmas shopping at last minute. I remember it was on the 23rd and I did them all and Mama wanted to help me wrap the presents. It was that day I was tired and grumpy, so I wrapped the presents quite quickly to get it over and done with. Mama said to me to calm down and to be careful. Of course I took no notice and got it all done. Time went on and we were having good time on Christmas Day. We usually have a few phone calls, usually from our family members wishing us Merry Christmas. But on that day, they asked questions such as; “Why my uncle Eric has the compact power dish from Andrea?”; “Why my cousin Maria has boxer shorts with matching socks from Andrea?”; “Why my sister-in-law Cathy has a set of drills from Andrea?” And finally my cousin, Joseph had a pink dressing gown from me!! I then realised - with my “rushed” wrapping couple of days earlier and I got them mixed up as the presents all looked in the same size and shapes! Mama, bless her, had the last laugh and told me “I told you!” in the end! It was all sorted out later and from now on, I will be more careful! |
