UsherLife is an e-community website where Ushers, their partners, families and friends come together in one place both virtually and socially. It is not run as an organisation or support group and acts as a base to provide online support and resource base. This UsherLife website is coordinated and maintained solely by its founder, Nick Sturley, who has severe Usher syndrome. He has dedicated a lot of his time on an entirely voluntary basis and out of his own expense and resources such as the annual website hosting costs, the two-yearly usherlife.co.uk domain renewals, the essential software and utilities. Your support through donations towards these costs will be very much appreciated and would help to enable this vital resource to continue to be maintained for the benefit of everyone who access this vital resource. UsherLife is seeking funding for £2000 to purchase new computer hardware (ideally a 24" Apple iMac) and web design software which would provide the capabilities required to perform the planned major development work as follows: - Revamp and enhance the website to incorporate new features, improve readability and navigation.
- New Usher awareness section in text and visual content to provide Usher people, their families and friends a clearer understanding of Usher syndrome and better cope with it.
- New Media Gallery section to showcase Flash video content and other new sections.
- Complete the Text Only version microsite.
If you know of anyone or any pointers that could help achieve the funding, please contact Nick through "Contact Us" link on the left. Thanks in anticipation. Nick Sturley UsherLife website Founder & Coordinator 1st July 2008
