At Home

Getting Support

You can get support from your local authority under the Section7: a deafblind guidance.
You can get help and advice from Sense's National Usher Team by emailing them.

Out & About

You can use the Mediview RP Specs to help you get around in the sun and bright light.
You can now safely use Puffin pedestrian crossings.

Social Gatherings & Networking

You cam meet up with other Ushers, partners and friends at pre-arranged social places.
You can discuss, share and participate with other Ushers, their partners and friends in usherlife email group.

Technology & Telecommunications

Sense has an Equipment & Accessibility section which lists many useful accessible equipment for the Usher/deafblind people.
All Apple Mac computers have Universal Access software included free as standard (no need to buy those expensive accessibility software for Windows).
You can text/read SMS in your mobile using Mobile Speak (also includes Magnifier).
Sight Village is UK's premier annual technology exhibition event for the blind & partially sighted, but is also useful for the deafblind.
